We'll set up a big screen to watch the numbers as they come in, and lay in plenty of liquid refreshments. DJ Halfbreed will kick out the jams. You've worked hard, now come out and join the party!

On Saturday, Larry will be greeting volunteers at canvass locations all across the city. There are locations in South Philly, West Philly, Northwest and more, and he'll be visiting them throughout the day.

Come out and meet Larry, get a free t-shirt, and knock on some doors to help bring real justice to Philadelphia.

Deadline to turn in absentee ballots

Today (Friday, November 3) is the last day you can turn in an absentee ballot without a sworn, notarized statement.

The regular deadline for applying for an absentee ballot was October 31. In an emergency, you can apply until today (instructions here), but absentee ballots must be received today, otherwise a sworn statement will be required.

Make sure your absentee ballot is received today by the Board of Elections, City Hall Room 142. Postmarks do not count — it must be in their hands by 5:00 pm.

Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot

Tuesday, October 31 is the last day you can request an absentee ballot. You may be eligible for an absentee ballot if you are:

  • Expected to be absent from Philadelphia County on the day of the coming election because of occupation, business, or duties (including leaves of absence for teaching, vacations, and sabbatical leaves);
  • Away from home at school, college, or university;
  • Unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability;
  • A person who is or may be in the military service of the United States;
  • Observing a religious holiday;
  • A Philadelphia county employee with duties on Election Day related to conducting the election.

To request an absentee ballot, print and fill out this form and bring it to the Board of Elections, City Hall Room 142, or get the form there and fill it out.

The Board of Elections must receive your request for an absentee ballot by October 31 at 5pm. (You will have until November 3 to turn in the actual ballot.)

Topics will include the next DA's role in reforming the criminal justice system, in preventing and prosecuting crime, and in making the city safer.

The mission of Justice for Alex Now is justice for our beloved Alejandro Rojas Garcia who was brutally murdered on January 24, 2015. We are uniting with other families of homicide victims around the country ... We are open to all religions, races, sexual orientations, ages etc. Homicide does not discriminate against anyone. We are all at risk. We want justice for the victims, peace for their families and safe streets for all.

Some of those groups are 215 People's Alliance, Juntos, ACLU of Pennsylvania, Reclaim Philadelphia, Color Of Change, Decarcerate PA and Media Mobilizing Project and many more. The organizers for this event had invited both candidates to participate. Both candidates accepted but Beth Grossman had to cancel due to a schedule conflict.
