PHILADELPHIA, PA – Last night, the membership of Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club voted to endorse civil rights lawyer Larry Krasner for District Attorney of Philadelphia. Liberty City is one of the largest and most influential volunteer-run progressive political groups in Philadelphia.
“I’m deeply honored to have received the endorsement of Liberty City LGBT Democratic Club,” said Krasner. “But no more honored than I have been to represent members of the LGBTQ+ and associated communities over the past 25 years in the struggle for equal justice. As District Attorney, I vow to uphold the law for all Philadelphians regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, and to continue to fight for the civil rights of everyone in our city.”
Larry Krasner's campaign continues to build momentum, with key endorsements such as AFSCME 1199C which occurred last week. He also is supported by Philly for Change, Pennsylvania Working Families Party, Pennsylvania Federation Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWED) - IBT, B.L.O.C. (Build, Lead, Organize, Campaign); and Reclaim Philadelphia.
Larry Krasner is a long-time civil rights lawyer seeking the Democratic nomination for District Attorney of Philadelphia. After earning degrees from the University of Chicago and Stanford Law School, he started his career as a public defender in Philadelphia. In 1993 he started his own Center City law practice, specializing in criminal defense and civil rights. Since then, Krasner has tried thousands of jury and bench trials in criminal and civil court and represented countless defendants arrested for free speech activity.
